Welcome Inner Changes

Mankind has continuously been seeking happyness, peace, and joy. People are living in enormous confusion of life, the brutalities, the revolts, the wars, the endless divisions of religion, ideology, and nationality. With a sense of deep frustration, they are trying to find meaning to all things that happen to and around them.

There has been outward progress from the bullock cart to the jet plane but psychologically has there been any change in the individual’s progress. We live in the same anger, jealous, greed, power, and guilt, that we have been living thousands of years ago.

In this constant battle, people are forcing their minds to conform and discipline to an established pattern. We have been taking the periphery inward looking approach, work through time, practice, and renunciation, gradually to come upon inner flowering. We have accepted an approach where people are cultivating faith, setting a code of conduct in the society, following others, and so on.

This periphery approach might be acceptable, but our distorted mind becomes dull through conformity and discipline. To discover a deeper meaning in life, something beyond our fears, anxiety, guilty, etc., one must take a different approach of going inward.

Change is hard, but we also know that fundamental inward change in one’s life is essential. We must change at a deeper level, which is not a mere reaction and not the outcome of environmental stress and strain. Change is constant and an excellent opportunity to bring our creativity to a new way of thinking. To bring about the change we must watch our fears, anger, greed, and guilt without any interference of the mind. There is a ceaseless conflict going on between what I am and what I want to be. We can watch the activity of the mind only when it is quiet. When we observe and live with it, then the activity totally comes to an end.

Join us at our monthly meditation on Sunday, April 25th at 11 AM to explore, discuss, and share, building inner awareness and attention through observation.

At the Happyness center, our main aim is to help you develop mindfulness and deeper awareness of your inner self. We learn to see ourselves in silent observation and enquiry rather than act from the noisy activity outside.

We all lead busy lives, and meditation can help us relax and renew. We will share, learn, and practice together. Group meditations have many advantages that can reinforce our desires of daily practice that inspires us and others.

Together let’s raise our consciousness to understand what makes meaning to our lives.

DISCOVERING TRUE SELF

3/1/2022

When there is no interference of thoughts or sensations in our consciousness, we experience a sense of causeless joy. When we are free of our desire to control or change our inner world, we are connected to our true self.

When we try to change our thoughts, we create division and conflict. Each time we try to control or modify our thoughts, our conflict gives rise to various mind modifications. These mind modifications enter our consciousness and cause disturbance in the field of consciousness.

Did you know that we have an authentic True Self and an illusory ego-self?

We have a mind that cannot stay still for a few seconds at a time and is always distracted. We are unable to control our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and our body sensations.

We have anger, fear, jealousy, and guilt bothering us. We put lot of effort in trying to get rid of these emotions. We try to ignore them, hide, escape, reason, and analyze them. At times, our negative thoughts bother us, and we struggle to remove them from our mind.

We put effort to become free of these inner disturbances and the mind distortions. We might have tried to meditate, listen to podcasts, followed guided meditations, went to yoga classes, and practiced may more techniques to silence the mind. All our efforts might have provided control on our thoughts and behaviour for a short period. When we stop these practices, the mind agitation is coming back and creating more conflict and internal division.

How can we free ourselves from this distortion and disturbance in our life?

Well, there are two levels to resolving this problem. At the first level, maybe we must recognize and realize that we cannot after all completely remove the negative thoughts and emotions. Then the question becomes,

If we cannot get rid of these negative thoughts and emotions, how are we to be free of them?

Maybe once we recognize that we cannot remove them, then we start to pay attention to understand the disturbance. We become aware without ignoring, hiding, or escaping them.

What happens when we pay attention and be aware of the disturbance?

According to physicist Thomas Young, when we consciously observe our reality and define how to act, the universal energy acts in that manner.
For example, when we pay attention and are consciously aware of the anger, our consciousness absorbs the anger and cancel the energy of anger.

This reality cannot be achieved through simple understanding or even or knowledge. The only way to experience is true practice.

We cannot discover our true self, until we uncover our ego-self.

At the Happyness center our main aim is to help you develop mindfulness and deeper inner awareness of the ego-self. We passively observe rather than make an effort to control our thoghts.

Come join us at the Happyness Center Online for our March Monthly Meditation, Sunday March 28th, as we explore to remember our true self that is lost in the chaos of division.

We all lead busy lives, and meditation can help us relax and renew. We will share, learn, and practice together. Group meditations has many advantages that can reinforce our desires of daily practice that inspires us and others.

Wholeness and Being

A client was experiencing unworthiness, loneliness, and negativity in their life. This is mostly because they were carrying the weight of the past beliefs and conditioning. They were stuck in that little self and trying to change their outer circumstances.

Most of the information and knowledge available outside talks about staying positive, being positive, and having positive reinforcement in life. As a result, we are ignoring the negative experiences in our lives and have no knowing of how to deal with them when they happen to us. Many times, when we encounter negative experiences, we look outward for solutions and push away the negativity. We ignore, escape, or hide from them because it feels uncomfortable. It does not feel our natural state and most of all we have no right understanding of it. We are desperate to get out of this negative feeling in any way we can.

How many of us feel the need to move away from a negative to a positive experience?

We think that staying in dark experiences will make us weak and crippled. By energetically working on both polarities (negative and positive), we are able to reverse the polarities from negative to positive. On one hand, we must know to let go the negative experiences and on the other hand we must reinforce the positive experiences. This can happen when we can experience both the polarities.

Have you thought if we experiencing life fully?

We all aspire to live our lives fully and in wholeness. But how can we be certain that only positive experiences can make us whole?

What is wholeness?

Transforming the little unhappy self to a happy little self without changing the self is when we can experience wholeness. When we can identify and practice to let go one part of your consciousness that is unhappy and nurture and invite another part of your consciousness, we move to a state of Equanimity. Remember that we're not removing anything that is worthy but we are taking away what does not serve us at the present time. Equanimity is a state where we are not pulled down by the negative polarity feelings nor get too attached to the positive polarity feelings.

At the Happyness center our main aim is to help you develop equanimity of the ego-self. We must observe our old patterns and beliefs that are controlling our life and let go of the past beliefs that does not serve us. In our meditation practice, we will encounter and connect with our whole being by identifying and understanding this dichotomy.

Come join us at the Happyness Center Online for our Monthly Meditation, last Sunday February 27th, as we explore our whole consciousness.

We all lead busy lives, and meditation can help us relax and renew. We will share, learn, and practice together. Group meditations has many advantages that can reinforce our desires of daily practice that inspires us and others.

Kindness towards self and others

When we look at the present world condition, can we say that our societal conditioning might be contributing to our problems?
Society has sometimes conditioned and socialized us to adopt relatively rigid rules. Growing up we were taught to endure pain, not to show emotions, and to get what we want, when we want it. Women are taught to be more passive and not offend others.

Our social and cultural conditioning gave us craving for satisfaction in all sorts of subtle and obvious ways, whether in family, helping in the society, becoming a scientist, or a politician. We crave for this satisfaction because we are afraid of being nobody in the society.

Does that mean that our society is creating dysfunctional behaviors and thoughts in individuals?
How can we change social beliefs and cognitive behaviors?
How can we change our cultural beliefs of what we've learned?
How we behave as free individuals in a society?

It all starts with the individual because the society is made of individuals. When we are capable of loving and being kind to ourselves without mind conditioning, then we no longer crave for a position in the society or to be recognized as somebody. We will only work for humanity without expectations.

We must ask ourselves, what is our fundamental lasting interest in life?

If we answered it truthfully, we would say that our primarily interest is always in ourselves, our social and interpersonal world. We might say that it is wrong to be interested in ourselves. But by looking inside our lives, we can balance independence with interdependence. We improve the quality of our relationships when we nurture ourselves individually. Then we are empowered.

Psychological fear is one of the greatest problems in our lives. Inwardly we are whirlpools of misery and mischief and therefore look outward for gratification.

As we enter the new year, let’s explore this line of thought and discover the importance of loving kindness.

At the Happyness center our main aim is to help you develop mindfulness and deeper awareness of your inner self. We learn to enquiry and challenge ourselves to grow as human beings for a better quality of life. We offer various services including counselling, meditation, outdoor therapy, and massages to help the mind, body, and spirit.

Bliss and Love for 2022!

Are we on the verge of going back to everyday life? What are we anticipating our lives to be?

The so-called everyday life that we come to know today seems unpredictable, unknown, and uncertain, with new challenges that we face individually and globally. Mother Nature seems to be showing a new persona and energy. It is almost like telling us something for us to learn.

How should everyday life look like for us?

When we can feel safe both mentally, emotionally, and physically, we may say we are happy. When we feel connected to our friends and family and feel secure in our relationships, that is the kind of routine we want to experience in our lives. Then even amidst adversity, we are resilient within and face any pandemic-like situation, floods, or natural disaster that mother nature places in front of us.

Is there a sense of Love, safety, and nurturing today when we are facing mother nature?

To us, Love is just an idea or a desire that we twist in any way we want. What we call Love is probably a desire to have pleasure and possess, projection and obsession of our own imagination, competition, jealousy, and control.

Love of Mother nature is not the product of thought, which belongs to the past. Real Love is where there is complete freedom and trust with nature and establishes a deeper connection. Love does not obey or follow anybody. Love has neither respect nor disrespect. During these challenging times, we must listen to her and learn to live accordingly. In this pandemic crisis, we are reminded of the uncertainties and insecurities to be active and present.

As we enter the new year, let’s explore this line of thought and discover something new about ourselves. To learn what Love is, we must first be free of all the ideals we’ve created. Come join at our monthly Meditation to create a new vision for 2022 where we all discover true love and bliss.

Inner Awareness and Observation

10/15/2021

Inner Awareness is all about us. Developing Inner Awareness is a process where we begin to watch ourselves in every relationship, conversation, situation that we encounter daily. The most important person in inner awareness is our self. But our mind focuses on everyone and everything outside of us but ignores our self.

Meditation is a tool and practice with the aim to help us watch our scattered mind that is filled with images, old patterns, and old behaviors. We must observe the inner chatter of our ego mind, so we can understand how much we are moving away from the truth, how our one consciousness is divided and separated.

One of the main goals of the Happyness center is to develop the practice of inner awareness and apply the process of deeper observation of the ego self. This process is a significant milestone in deepening our self-knowing.

When we are aware of our conditioning we will understand the whole of consciousness, and not just one part of our consciousness. We learn that we have divided our consciousness and live in fragments, where we are familiar with one little corner of our consciousness and the rest of it is unknown to us.

Awareness is the total attention of our consciousness without division. Meditation will help us to watch this happening inside our mind. Observation, Awareness, and Attention are the three important pillars of mindful practice. Research has shown that observation and awareness can help unite our fragmented consciousness.

Come to learn more about our deceptive ego-self and fragmented consciousness. Join our Happyness Community at our Monthly Meditation, Sunday October 24th, 11.00 AM.
Let’s explore together and discuss about deepening our inner awareness and observation.

Body Sensing and Breath Awareness

9/13/2021

This month we are focussing on Body sensing and Breath Awareness.

When we pay attention to our physical body and feel the body's sensations for few minutes every day, we might feel a sense of relaxation that will allow us to see our life more clearly as to what is truly going on inside us. Cultivating the practice of looking into our consciousness has not only become essential but also a of necessity for our survival.
Breath sensing helps to regulate our thoughts and feelings. Breath awareness is one of the most powerful healing resources we have with us. Allowing body sensing and breath awareness will let the brain adapt to new patterns, habits, and behaviour. Deep, slow, and rhythmic breathing can help reduce anxiety, fear, and depression.
Research studies have shown that deep breathing can activate our immune system, hormones like serotonin and oxytocin, and parasympathetic nervous systems. Scientific studies shows also that awareness of our external body will open some hidden aspects of ourselves that we did not know to exist.
Simple body and breath sensations have a powerful impact on releasing our stress levels and relax our body and mind. It involves mental scanning the body, paying attention, and experiencing each part of our physical body. This scanning will allow us to examine and explore to see what is troubling in our inner world. This meditation can help increase your inner awareness and improve the quality of your life. Every tool shared by our dedicated practitioners inspires you to look inside rather than seek solutions outside. That is where you find real solutions to life problems.
At the Happyness center, our main aim is to help you develop mindfulness and deeper awareness of your inner self. We learn to see ourselves in silent observation and enquiry rather than act from the noisy activity outside.
Join us at the Happyness Center for our Monthly Meditation on Sunday, September 26th, at 11 AM, as we explore and discuss how we can achieve inner awareness through body and breath sensing.
We all lead busy lives, and meditation can help us relax and renew. Group meditations have many advantages that can reinforce our desires of daily practice that inspires us and others. We will share, learn, and practice together.

Beyond Self-Awareness

8/2/2021

Our general assumption is that human life spans for seventy, eighty, ninety, or to some even hundred years.
Does life begin only when we take our first breath and ends when we breath out the last?
Is it that life starts only where we know it and ends where it seems we know it ends?

Let us imagine standing on the bank of a river. From where we stand and see the water flowing, we don’t really know the source of where water is flowing from, and we are also unknown about where the water is rushing on towards the destination beyond. Our knowledge about the river is confined to what we see before our eyes.
Similarly, when we are unaware of the source where the flow of life comes, nor the destination where it rushes to is unknown, it is natural for us to assume that life starts when we are born and ends when we die and leave the body.

Can we say that the entire water of the river is only what we see within the reach of our sight?

Because we merely do not know the source, as well as its destination, it cannot disprove that the water comes from somewhere and proceeds to some other place. Likewise, our life is not just the outcome of merely a woman and a man coming together. It cannot be just a lucky accident.

What does it mean when we say Beyond Self-Awareness?
We must purge the past, every moment live the present with self-awareness and prepare ourselves beyond self-awareness into the future. In other words, we must allow the past to open and let it flow in the present. We must clearly see our true self with self-awareness in the present. And we must we live our present with the vision of preparing our future beyond self-awareness.

At the Happyness center our main aim is to help you develop mindfulness and deeper awareness of your inner self. We learn to see ourselves in silent observation and enquiry rather than act from the noisy activity outside.

Come join us at the Happyness Center for our Monthly Meditation, Sunday August 29th , as we explore and discuss about building inner awareness and attention through observation.

Desires versus Being perfect as is

7/2/2021

July 2021

A disciple asked a question to his teacher: Why can’t we always be happy in the world?

The teacher replied: The goal in our life is to be in a permanent state of bliss. But instead of being happy, we give importance to gathering things that bring us pleasure. We made it our life’s purpose and somehow believe that to be happy we must always achieve and accumulate things. We don’t realize that everything in this world is an illusion and temporary. We think that when we collect things, they’ll bring us happyness, without realizing that they are not going to be there permanently.

A person who even after knowing the truth cannot give up the greed, such a person will live in the fear of losing them. People who don’t realize the truth, live with ego. The teacher said, wherever there is fear and ego, how can there be Happyness?

What is the cause of fear of losing something?
The root cause of fear is desire. When we have the desire to have something then we have the fear of losing it too. If we have the desire to live, then we have the fear of dying. In our competitive culture, with its desire for power, position, status, recognition, and success, do we observe what is taking place within ourselves and outside ourselves?

Everyone is caught in this fear, whether it is humans or divine beings. No one is free of desires. Some of us suffer because we have very little or nothing. And others who have everything suffer because there is nothing more to achieve or obtain. We perceive Happyness from our perspective, whereas the truth is completely opposite. Despite all our proud material achievements, we live in a field where there is frequent conflict in our relationships, we’re breeding hatred, resentment, brutality and endless wars.

How do we come out of our fears? Is it possible to be free of desires?
What can we do to stop our search for Happyness and live in Happyness?

At the Happyness center our main aim is to help you develop mindfulness and deeper awareness of your inner self. We learn to see and understand ourselves in silent observation and enquiry rather than act from the external noisy activity.

Come join us at the Happyness Center for our Monthly Meditation, Sunday June 27th, 2021 as we explore and discuss about building inner awareness and attention through observation.

We all lead busy lives, and meditation can help us relax and renew. We will share, learn, and practice together. Group meditations has many advantages that can reinforce our desires of daily practice that inspires us and others.

Timeless vs Time

6/2/2021

June 2021

Are you surprised to know that we live simultaneously in two parallel worlds?

One is the outer world that relates to external comforts where the brain and mind began to make things technologically better. The other is the inner world that deals with subtle things like thought and feeling where we are struggling to make it better.

Mankind has always tried to become something better. Exploiting that principle on the outside, over time becoming something has given mankind a sense of achievement, comforts, and made the world a better place to live. Using the same principle of becoming something, mankind wanted to be better himself inwardly too. He has miserably failed and caused misery and suffering.

Does transformation come about by becoming something that we are not? Is transformation a matter of time?
Most of us are accustomed to think that time is necessary for transformation: I am something now, and to change what I am into what I should be requires time.
There are two kinds of time: chronological time and psychological time. We cannot reject chronological time. But is there time as the mind thinks of it? Is there time apart from the mind?
Psychological time is the product of the mind. The foundation of the psychological time is thought. It is just a memory of our past experiences in response to our present that is creating our future. By introducing time, we are postponing or avoiding to see “what is.” To see “What is” it is essential that we have a quiet mind.

How can we possibly live in both these opposing worlds simultaneously?
Can we explore the possibility of balancing the two worlds and learn to live in a timeless awareness and still function in a time-bound manner?

At the Happyness center our main aim is to help you develop mindfulness and deeper awareness of your inner self. We learn to see ourselves in silent observation and enquiry rather than act from the noisy activity outside.

Come join us at the Happyness Center for our Monthly Meditation, Sunday June 28th , as we explore and discuss about building inner awareness and attention through observation.
